Dear Sir:
Authority is requested to add Project 14-606-21, Replacement of Drain Tiles at the Calumet Union Drainage Ditch Reservoir, to the Construction Fund at the request of the Maintenance and Operations Department.
The purpose of the project is to remediate sink holes, eliminate ponding and restore the proper drainage of Pond No. 4, as well as reduce sedimentation of the wet well at the Calumet Union Drainage Ditch Reservoir. An inspection indicates that the sink holes, ponding conditions and sedimentation are due to multiple collapsed segments of the perimeter drain tiles in Pond No. 4.
The project consists of complete replacement of the perimeter drain tiles in Pond No. 4 at the Calumet Union Drainage Ditch Reservoir. The estimated cost of the project is $550,000.00.
