Authority to grant a 25-year, approximately 1.71 acre non-exclusive easement to Commonwealth Edison Company for the installation, maintenance, operation, repair and removal of fiber optic facilities within the Stickney Water Reclamation Plant to service District structures. Consideration shall be $10.00

Dear Sir:
Commonwealth Edison Company ("ComEd") has requested an easement to construct, operate and maintain fiber optic facilities and structures used in connection with the transmission and distribution of electricity to service structures and facilities at the Stickney Water Reclamation Plant ("Plant"). The proposed fiber optic cable will transmit the status of the equipment that distributes power to the Plant back to ComEd. Currently, the equipment status is connected through an existing telephone line which has become obsolete and unreliable.
The District's technical departments have reviewed ComEd's request for the subject easement and have no objections thereto.
A nominal fee of $10.00 is being recommended as the easement will exclusively serve District structures and facilities.
It is requested that the Executive Director recommend to the Board of Commissioners that it authorize the grant of a 25-year, approximately 1.71 acre non-exclusive easement to Commonwealth Edison Company for the installation, maintenance, operation, repair and removal of fiber optic facilities within the Stickney Water Reclamation Plant to service District structures. Consideration shall be $10.00.
It is also requested that the Executive Director recommend to the Board of Commissioners that it authorize and direct the Chairman of the Committee on Finance and the Clerk to execute said easement agreement on behalf of the District after it is approved by the General Counsel as to form and legality.
