Authority to settle the Workers' Compensation Claim of Andrew Coleman vs. MWRDGC, Case 11 WC 38745, Illinois Workers' Compensation Commission (IWCC), in the sum of $15,068.09, Account 901-30000-601090

Dear Sir:
Andrew Coleman is an Electrician at the Kirie Water Reclamation Plant. On August 10, 2011, he sustained an injury to his right hand. He was initially seen in the emergency room at the hospital on August 10, 2011. His treatment consisted of splinting, physical therapy and modified duty.
Mr. Coleman was not paid any lost time benefits as a result of his injury. He returned to full duty work on October 28, 2011.
Mr. Coleman's attorney filed an Application of Adjustment of Claim with the Illinois Workers' Compensation Commission (IWCC). Subject to the approval of the IWCC, this case can now be settled for $15,068.09, representing approximately 33.33% loss of both the second and third fingers of the right hand. The settlement will close out future lost time benefits, as well as any future medical benefits, associated with this injury.
The Director of Human Resources believes that this settlement is in the best interest of the District and requests payment of that sum be approved and she be authorized to execute such documents as may be necessary to effect the settlement.
