Dear Sir:
Mastercraft Marine, LLC ("Marine") has requested to lease for a 39-year term 3.47 acres of District real estate located at 7800 Canal Bank Road in Summit, Illinois, and known as Main Channel Parcel 34.03. Marine intends to use the site as a marina, to store and launch boats, and to provide boat repair and other related services.
The subject parcel was last leased to the Village of Summit ("Summit") for the purpose of operating a boat launch, with the lease expiring on June 9, 2015. Summit elected not to have the lease renewed.
The District's technical departments have reviewed Marine's lease request and have no objections thereto.
It is requested that the Executive Director recommend to the Board of Commissioners that it authorize and direct the General Counsel to commence statutory procedures to lease 3.47 acres of District real estate located at 7800 Canal Bank Road in Summit, Illinois and known as Main Channel Parcel 34.03.
