RESOLUTION sponsored by the Board of Commissioners proclaiming that the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District stands with France
Body
WHEREAS, France is the oldest ally of the United States of America; and
WHEREAS, without the assistance and support of France, the United States would not have won the Revolutionary War; and
WHEREAS, France and the United States have remained committed allies throughout the history of the United States; and
WHEREAS, France stood with America during one of its darkest hours after the 9/11 attacks in New York City; and
WHEREAS, after a series of deadly terrorist attacks in Paris, we extend our sympathies to the families of those whose lives were lost; and
WHEREAS, the United States continues to stand with France against terror and in support of the tenets both countries hold dear: Liberté, Égalite, Fraternité; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that we, the Board of Commissioners of the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago, on behalf of ourselves and staff, do hereby proclaim that like the United States as a whole, the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District stands united with France; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Resolution be spread upon the permanent Record of Proceedings of the Board of Commissioners of the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago.
