Dear Sir:

 

Contract documents and specifications have been prepared for furnishing and delivering ferric chloride to the Egan Water Reclamation Plant, at the request of the Maintenance and Operations Department.

 

The purpose of this contract is to procure ferric chloride to condition sludge for thickening at the Egan Water Reclamation Plant for a two-year period.

 

The estimated cost for this contract is $335,000.00. The estimated 2016, 2017 and 2018 expenditures are $87,000.00, $163,000.00 and $85,000.00 respectively.

 

The bid deposit for this contract is $16,800.00.

 

The Multi-Project Labor Agreement is not included in this contract because it is a furnish and deliver contract.

 

The Affirmative Action Ordinance, Revised Appendix D will not be included in this contract because it is a furnish and deliver contract.

 

The tentative schedule for this contract is as follows:

Advertise                              February 24, 2016

Bid Opening                     March 15, 2016

Award                                        April 7, 2016

Completion                      July 31, 2018

 

Funds for the current year are available in Account 101-67000-623560. Funds for the subsequent years, 2017 and 2018, are contingent on the Board of Commissioner’s approval of the District’s budget for those years.

 

In view of the foregoing, it is recommended that the Director of Procurement and Materials Management be authorized to advertise Contract 16-630-11.
