Dear Sir:
On August 6, 2015, the Board of Commissioners authorized the Director of Procurement and Materials Management to advertise for bids Contract 14-824-3D, Rehabilitation of Bridges NSA on North Shore Channel.
Authorization to amend the Authority to Advertise was approved at the September 17, 2015 Board meeting.
In response to a public advertisement of October 7, 2015, a bid opening was held on November 3, 2015. The bid tabulation for this contract is:
IHC CONSTRUCTION COMPANIES, LLC $2,670,000.00
One thousand one hundred seventeen (1,117) companies were notified of this contract being advertised and thirty-nine (39) companies requested specifications.
The bid submitted by IHC Construction Companies, LLC is approximately 127 percent above the estimate, and is considered too high for an award. Therefore, the sole bid is rejected in the public’s best interest. The Director of Procurement and Materials Management has informed IHC Construction Companies, LLC of this action.
The Engineering Department will review the specifications and estimated cost prior to re-advertising the contract.
