Body
Dear Sir:
At its June 4, 2015, meeting, the Board of Commissioners (“Board”) authorized the District to enter into a 39-year lease with the Village of Wheeling (“Village”) on two (2) parcels of District real estate consisting of approximately two (2) acres located southwest of the intersection of Milwaukee Avenue and Lake Cook Road in Wheeling, Illinois. One parcel (“Parcel A”) is located at the western end of Meadow Lane. The second parcel (“Parcel B”) is located west of the intersection of Strong Street and Northgate Parkway. The Village requested to lease the parcels in order to use Parcel A as a footpath available for public use and Parcel B for stormwater management purposes.
Subsequent to the Board’s June 4, 2015, Orders, the Village re-evaluated its land use needs and has now requested to lease an additional one (1) acre parcel (“Parcel C”) immediately adjacent to and west of Parcel A for use as a footpath for public use.
The technical departments have no objections to leasing this additional parcel.
It is requested that the Executive Director recommend to the Board of Commissioners that it amend its Order of June 4, 2015, authorizing the District to enter into a 39-year lease with the Village of Wheeling on an approximate two (2) acre segment of the William Rodgers Memorial Diversionary Channel located southwest of the intersection of Milwaukee Avenue and Lake Cook Road in Wheeling, Illinois, by adding to the leased premises another one (1) acre segment of the Channel. Consideration shall be a nominal fee of $10.00.
Therefore, it is requested that the aforesaid Board Order of June 4, 2015, be amended to effect the change set forth above, otherwise to remain in force and effect as heretofore enacted.
Requested, Ronald M. Hill, General Counsel, RMH:STM:CMM:vp
