Dear Sir:

 

Contract documents and specifications have been prepared for agricultural management at Fulton County, Illinois at the request of the Maintenance and Operations Department.

 

The purpose of this contract is to provide materials and services of skilled and unskilled agricultural laborers and operating engineers at the Prairie Plan Site in Fulton County, Illinois over a three year period. The labor, machinery and materials are to be used for mowing grass, fence repairs, and ancillary operations & maintenance of the site.

 

The estimated cost for this contract is $1,740,800.00. The estimated 2016, 2017, and 2018 expenditures are $580,000.00, $580,400.00 and $580,400.00 respectively.

 

The bid deposit for this contract is $87,000.00.

 

The Multi-Project Labor Agreement (MPLA) and the Revised Appendix D will not be included in this contract because of the specialized nature of the work involved.

 

The tentative schedule for this contract is as follows:

Advertise                     March 2, 2016

Bid Opening                     March 22, 2016

Award                     April 7, 2016

Completion                     December 31, 2018

 

Funds are available in Account 101-66000-612420. Funds for subsequent years, 2017 and 2018, are contingent on the Board of Commissioners’ approval of the District’s budget for those years.

 

In view of the foregoing, it is recommended that the Director of Procurement and Materials Management be authorized to advertise Contract 16-659-11.
