Dear Sir:

 

Contract documents and specifications have been prepared for Contract 16-705-21, Rebuild Two Raw Sewage Pump Rotating Assemblies at the O’Brien Water Reclamation Plant, at the request of the Maintenance and Operations Department.

 

The purpose of this contract is to perform complete rebuilding of one 130 MGD and one 97 MGD main raw sewage pump rotating assemblies for the O’Brien Water Reclamation Plant. The work will include sandblasting, inspection, machining, and weld repair of the pump impellers as well as fabrication of a new pump shaft, casing rings, impeller rings and shaft sleeves for each rotating assembly. This will be followed by reassembly and dynamic balancing according to ISO Standards.

 

The estimated cost of this contract is $240,000.00.

 

The bid deposit for this contract is $12,000.00.

 

The Multi-Project Labor Agreement (MPLA) will not be included in this contract because the rebuild work will be performed offsite at the Contractor’s facility.

 

The Affirmative Action Ordinance, Revised Appendix D will not be included in this contract because the required services do not provide practical or cost-effective opportunities for direct or indirect Subcontracting.

 

The tentative schedule for this contract is as follows:

Advertise                     June 1, 2016

Bid Opening                     June 21, 2016

Award                     July 7, 2016

Completion                     December 31, 2016

 

Funds for are available in Account 201-50000-645600.

 

In view of the foregoing, it is recommended that the Director of Procurement and Materials Management be authorized to advertise Contract 16-705-21.
