Dear Sir:

 

Contract documents and specifications have been prepared for Contract 16-109-11 Perform Olfactometry Analysis of Odorous Gas Samples, at the request of the Monitoring and Research Department.

 

The purpose of this contract is to support the planning and design of odor mitigation for District facilities by providing necessary data that is required to properly select odor mitigation technologies.

 

The estimated cost for this contract is $40,000.00. The estimated 2016 and 2017 expenditures are $18,250.00 and $21,750.00, respectively.

 

A bid deposit is not required for this contract.

 

The Multi-Project Labor Agreement is not applicable to this contract because the classification of work does not fall within the provisions of the MPLA.

 

The Affirmative Action Ordinance, Revised Appendix D is not included in this contract because the estimate is less than the minimum threshold established by Section 4 of the Affirmative Action Ordinance.

 

The tentative schedule for this contract is as follows:

Advertise                     June 1, 2016

Bid Opening                     June 21, 2016

Award                     July 7, 2016

Completion                     December 31, 2017

 

Funds for the current year are available in Account 201-50000-612490. Funds for 2017 are contingent on the Board of Commissioners’ approval of the District’s budget for that year. 

 

In view of the foregoing, it is recommended that the Director of Procurement and Materials Management be authorized to advertise Contract 16-109-11.
