Authority to issue a one (1) day permit to the Friends of the Cal-Sag Trail to access the District’s Blue Island SEPA Station for the Cal-Sag Plunge Fundraising Event on Saturday, August 27, 2016, in Blue Island, Illinois.  Consideration shall be $10.00

Dear Sir:

 

The Friends of the Cal-Sag Trail (“Friends”) have requested a one (1) day permit to access the District’s Blue Island SEPA Station along the Cal-Sag Channel, to host a fund raising event.

 

The event will include individual participants jumping into the Cal-Sag Channel from a boat, low platform, or from the side of the Channel to celebrate the opening of the Chatham Street Bridge, and the completion of a segment of the Cal-Sag Trail between Alsip and Burnham, Illinois.

 

The technical departments have reviewed this request and suggested certain conditions that will be made part of the permit.

 

It is requested that the Executive Director recommend to the Board of Commissioners that it authorize and approve the issuance of a one (1) day permit to the Friends of the Cal-Sag Trail to access the District’s Blue Island SEPA Station for the Cal-Sag Plunge Fundraising Event on Saturday, August 27, 2016, in Blue Island, Illinois.  Consideration shall be $10.00.

 

It is also requested that the Executive Director recommend to the Board of Commissioners that it authorize and direct the Chairman of the Committee on Finance and the Clerk to execute the permit agreement after it is approved by the General Counsel as to form and legality.
