Report of Collective Bargaining Activities in 2016

Dear Sir:
The District has received notice that employees in the Motor Vehicle Dispatcher and Motor Vehicle Dispatcher Supervisor classifications have petitioned to be represented by the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local No. 9 (Local No. 9). It is anticipated that Local No. 9 will be formally recognized as the exclusive bargaining representative for these classifications by the Illinois Labor Relations Board. Once Local No. 9 is certified as the exclusive bargaining representative, bargaining will begin to establish an initial collective bargaining agreement. It is estimated that bargaining will commence in mid to late July.
The number of positions in classifications seeking representation is as follows:
Motor Vehicle Dispatcher Supervisor:1
Motor Vehicle Dispatcher: 2
Total: 3
The Director of Human Resources and the Labor Negotiator will report as necessary during bargaining. Once a tentative agreement has been reached with Local No. 9 and ratified in accordance with the bargaining unit’s requirements, the agreement will be submitted to the Board of Commissioners for final approval.
