RESOLUTION sponsored by the Board of Commissioners recognizing the American Contract Compliance Association

Body

 

WHEREAS, the American Contract Compliance Association (ACCA) was established in 1986 as a nonprofit national organization dedicated to ensuring equitable employment and contracting practices within the public and private sectors; and

 

WHEREAS, the mission of the ACCA is to deliver ongoing comprehensive training and certification to practitioners working within the fields of Affirmative Action, Contract Compliance, Minority/Women/Disadvantaged/Small/Emerging Business Enterprise, Labor Compliance, Economic & Business Development, and Equal Employment Opportunity; and

 

WHEREAS, the organization promotes uniform standards, professionalism and best practices in the administration of contract compliance programs; and

 

WHEREAS, the ACCA offers its members the opportunity to collaborate with other professionals and share information regarding their respective industry trends and technologies that will increase effectiveness; and

 

WHEREAS, the ACCA provides a national advocacy forum in alliance with public and private groups that share ACCA’s vision, mission and values; and

 

WHEREAS, the ACCA strives to educate the public on the socio-economic benefits of properly administered affirmative action, women, small, and historically under-utilized business programs; and

 

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago has been a pioneer in recognizing economic contributions of minority business men and women; and

 

WHEREAS, this recognition is evidenced by the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago’s adoption and continuing advocacy of a policy which supports the legitimate aspirations of minority communities and businesses within its jurisdiction; and

 

WHEREAS, the development of minority business enterprises is in the best interests of the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago, the State of Illinois and the United States of America; and

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that we, the Board of Commissioners of the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago, on behalf of ourselves and staff, do hereby recognize the American Contract Compliance Association for their dedication to ensuring equitable employment and contracting practices; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Resolution be spread upon the permanent Record of Proceedings of the Board of Commissioners of the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago.
