Authority to issue a three (3) month permit to Skokie Motor Sales, Inc., d/b/a Sherman Dodge on approximately two (2) acres of District real estate located at 3516 Oakton Street in Skokie, Illinois; part of North Shore Channel Parcel 5.03 for temporary parking of Dodge vehicles. Consideration shall be $26,136.00

Dear Sir:
Skokie Motor Sales, Inc., d/b/a Sherman Dodge (“Sherman Dodge”), has requested a three (3) month permit to use approximately two (2) acres of District real estate located at 3516 Oakton Street in Skokie and known as part of North Shore Channel Parcel 5.03 (“Parcel 5.03”) for use in conjunction with its own adjacent site used for parking new vehicles associated with its car dealership. The Sherman Dodge car dealership is located at 7601 N. Skokie Boulevard in Skokie.
Sherman Dodge has requested to lease Parcels 5.01, 5.02 and 5.03 for this same use, however it has also requested to use the site during the leasing process. A permit is therefore being recommended for use in the interim.
The permit fee of $26,136.00 represents the pro-rata share of 10% of the site’s fair market value based upon a recent appraisal of the site. The technical departments have no objections to making this site available for use by Sherman Dodge.
It is requested that the Executive Director recommend to the Board of Commissioners that it authorize and approve the issuance of a three (3) month permit to Skokie Motor Sales, Inc., d/b/a Sherman Dodge on approximately two (2) acres of District real estate located at 3516 Oakton Street in Skokie, Illinois; part of North Shore Channel Parcel 5.03 for temporary parking of Dodge vehicles. Consideration shall be $26,136.00.
It is also requested that the Executive Director recommend to the Board of Commissioners that it authorize and direct the Chairman of the Committee on Finance and the Clerk to execute the permit agreement after it is approved by the General Counsel as to form and legality.
