Requesting the advice and consent of the Board of Commissioners to the appointment of John P. Murray as the Director of Maintenance and Operations for the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago

Dear Commissioners:
Section 2605/4 of Chapter 70, Illinois Compiled Statutes, states that the Executive Director, with the advice and consent of the Board of Commissioners, shall appoint the Director of Maintenance and Operations. I hereby request that the Board of Commissioners give me its advice and consent to the permanent appointment of Mr. John P. Murray as Director of Maintenance and Operations.
Mr. Murray began his career at the District in 2002 as an Assistant Civil Engineer in the Maintenance and Operations Department and progressed through the ranks as Managing Civil Engineer of the Stormwater Management and Local Sewers Sections within the Engineering Department, as described in his attached resume.
Mr. Murray has been Acting Director of Maintenance and Operations since May 9, 2016. I am pleased and proud to make this appointment of a dedicated and proven member of the organization. Upon the consent of the Board of Commissioners, the effective date of the appointment is October 6, 2016.
