Title

MOTION to amend file number 16-1227 (Agenda item No. 24): Authority to amend Lease Agreement dated February 4, 1988, with the City of Palos Heights on approximately 78 acres of District real estate located south of the Cal-Sag Channel between the Northfolk Southern Railway and Ridgeland Avenue in Palos Heights, Illinois; Cal-Sag Channel Parcels 8.08 and 9.04, and commonly referred to as the Lake Katherine Nature Center, to allow additional uses.  Consideration shall be a nominal $10.00 fee plus 25% of the net profits

Body

I hereby move to amend File No. 16-1227, Agenda Item No. 24, to include the following paragraph:

On December 13, 2016, District staff met with Palos’ mayor and staff, members of the Lake Katherine Nature Center’s not-for-profit board (“Lake Katherine Board”), and representatives of three neighboring townhouse associations, Lake Katherine Harbor Townhouse Association, Lake Katherine Estates Townhouse Association, and Moorings Townhouse Association. At the conclusion of the meeting, it was agreed that a representative from each of these three associations would be added to the Lake Katherine Board, which will then be comprised of eleven (11) members, with each association choosing its own representative. Palos also agreed to take steps to increase the Lake Katherine Board’s transparency to keep members of the general public better informed on plans and new developments relating to the nature center.

I further request that the sale of alcohol be restricted to outside vendors.

Dated: December 15, 2016
