RESOLUTION FOR BOARD MEETING OF JANUARY 5, 2017

RESOLUTION sponsored by the Board of Commissioners honoring Samantha Crump for her fight against cancer
Body
WHEREAS, Samantha Crump is a high school student who recently endured a stem cell transplant in order to beat cancer; and
WHEREAS, Samantha has undergone over 5 rounds of intense chemotherapy and 10 rounds of radiation, and she will continue to fight cancer and KICK IT TO THE GROUND!; and
WHEREAS, on WGN’s The Steve Cochran Radio Show, Samantha was named “Kid of the Year 2016”; and
WHEREAS, Samantha will be returning to Resurrection High School in January, 2017 to complete her senior year; and
WHEREAS, after graduation from high school, Samantha plans to attend nursing school with the goal of becoming an oncology nurse at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago; and
WHEREAS, as Winston Churchill said, “Attitude is the little thing that makes a big difference,” and Samantha’s positive attitude in the face of illness is an inspiration for all who know her; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that we, the Board of Commissioners of the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago, on behalf of ourselves and staff, do hereby honor Samantha Crump for her courageous battle against cancer; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Resolution be spread upon the permanent Record of Proceedings of the Board of Commissioners of the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago.
