Contract documents and specifications have been prepared for Contract 17-987-11 Specialty Railroad Track Services in the Stickney Service Area, at the request of the Maintenance and Operations Department.
The purpose of this contract is to provide all labor, tools, parts, material, equipment, supervision, transportation, and appurtenances required to perform specialty repairs to any and all trackage and appurtenances that comprise the MWRD Railroad System in the Stickney Service Area for a three-year period.
The estimated cost for this contract is $343,600.00. The estimated 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020 expenditures are $60,000.00, $114,300.00, $114,300.00, and $55,000.00 respectively.
The bid deposit for this contract is $17,180.00.
The Multi-Project Labor Agreement will be included in this contract.
The Affirmative Action Ordinance, Revised Appendix D will be included in this contract. The type of work to be performed under the contract is within the "Mechanical" category for establishing PCE utilization goals. The associated Socially and Economically Disadvantaged individual goals for this contract, are 7% Minority Business Enterprises (MBE) and/or Women’s Business Enterprises (WBE) and 7% Small Business Enterprises (SBE).

Award July 6, 2017
Completion July 31, 2020
Funds for 2017 are available in Account 101-69000-612670. Funds for subsequent years, 2018, 2019 and 2020, are contingent upon the Board of Commissioners’ approval of the District’s budget for those years.
In view of the foregoing, it is recommended that the Director of Procurement and Materials Management be authorized to advertise Contract 17-987-11.
