Requesting the advice and consent of the Board of Commissioners to the appointment of Edward W. Podczerwinski as the Director of Monitoring and Research for the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago

Dear Commissioners:
Section 2605/4 of Chapter 70, Illinois Compiled Statutes, states that the Executive Director, with the advice and consent of the Board of Commissioners, shall appoint the Director of Monitoring and Research. I hereby request that the Board of Commissioners give me its advice and consent to the permanent appointment of Mr. Edward W. Podczerwinski as Director of Monitoring and Research.
Mr. Podczerwinski began his career at the District in 1997 as an Assistant Civil Engineer in the Engineering Department and progressed through the ranks within the Engineering Department and Monitoring and Research Department, as described in his attached resume.
Mr. Podczerwinski was appointed as Deputy Director of Monitoring and Research on April 18, 2016, and has been Acting Director of Monitoring and Research since May 1, 2017. I am pleased and proud to make this appointment of a dedicated and proven member of the organization. Upon the consent of the Board of Commissioners, the effective date of the appointment is October 5, 2017.
