Contract documents and specifications have been prepared for Contract 16-126-3S, Summit Conduit Rehabilitation, SSA.

 

The purpose of this contract is to complete the lining of Summit Conduit and rehabilitate the inlet and outlet structures. The sewer was partially lined under a previous contract.

 

The contract consists of the rehabilitation of 810 feet of 6’x7’ semi-elliptical sewer by cured-in place lining/spray-on geopolymer lining system, rehabilitation of inlet and outlet structures, and other unit price items specified in the contract specifications.

 

The necessary right-of-way documents have been approved by the relevant parties and will be finalized prior to award.

 

It is estimated that roughly 16 full time equivalent jobs will be created during this contract period.

 

The engineers estimated cost for this contract is between $1,520,000.00 and $1,840,000.00. The estimated cost range will be stated in the advertisement for bids.

 

The bid deposit for this contract is $85,000.00.

 

The contract specifications require that all work shall be completed within 360 calendar days after approval of the Contractor’s bond. Liquidated damages are $900.00 for each calendar day beyond the specified date for substantial completion and $300.00 for each calendar day beyond the specified date for final completion.

 

The Multi-Project Labor Agreement will be included in this contract.

 

The Affirmative Action interim Ordinance Appendix D will be included in this contract. The type of work to be performed under the contract is within the “General Construction Tailored Goals” category for establishing Minority Business Enterprises (MBE), Women’s Business Enterprises (WBE) and/or Small Business Enterprises (SBE) utilization goals. The MBE, WBE and SBE utilization goals for this contract are: 5% MBE and/or WBE, and 10% SBE.

 

The tentative schedule for this contract is as follows:

 

Advertise                     October 18, 2017

Bid Opening            November 14, 2017

Award                               December 21, 2017

Completion               December 16, 2018

 

Funds are available in Account 401-50000-645700.

 

In view of the foregoing, it is recommended that the Director of Procurement and Materials Management be authorized to advertise Contract 16-126-3S.
