Requesting the advice and consent of the Board of Commissioners to the appointment of Susan T. Morakalis as General Counsel for the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago

Dear Commissioners:
Section 2605/4 of Chapter 70, Illinois Compiled Statutes, states that the Executive Director, with the advice and consent of the Board of Commissioners, shall appoint the General Counsel. I hereby request that the Board of Commissioners give me its advice and consent to the permanent appointment of Susan T. Morakalis as General Counsel.
Ms. Morakalis began her career at the District in 1997 as a Senior Assistant Attorney in the Law Department and progressed through the ranks of the Law Department, as described in her career highlights, which document is attached.
Ms. Morakalis has been Acting General Counsel since May 1, 2017. I am pleased and proud to make this appointment of a dedicated and proven member of the organization. Upon the consent of the Board of Commissioners, the effective date of the appointment is October 5, 2017.
