Dear Sir:

 

Contract documents and specifications have been prepared for Contract 18-902-21, Furnish and Deliver Four Submersible Pumps to the Stickney Water Reclamation Plan, at the request of the Maintenance and Operations Department.

 

The purpose of this contract is to procure four submersible pumps for ejector houses and updated automatic electrical control systems for the Stickney Water Reclamation Plant Battery D scum removal. The four pumps will provide a more consistent removal of scum from each final tank to eliminate backups.

 

The estimated cost for this contract is $70,000.00.

 

The bid deposit for this contract is $3,500.00.

 

The Multi-Project Labor Agreement (MPLA) and the Affirmative Action Ordinance, Revised Appendix D will not be included in this contract because it is a furnish and deliver contract for equipment.

 

The tentative schedule for this contract is as follows:

Advertise                     April 11, 2018

Bid Opening           May 1, 2018

Award                               May 17, 2018

Completion             December 31, 2018

 

Funds are available in Account 201-50000-634650.

 

In view of the foregoing, it is recommended that the Director of Procurement and Materials Management be authorized to advertise Contract 18-902-21.
