Dear Sir:
Contract documents and specifications have been prepared to furnish and deliver chemical and physical analyses of sediment samples for the Environmental Monitoring and Research Division (EM&RD) of the Monitoring and Research Department at the Lue-Hing Research and Development Complex.
The sediment samples will be evaluated for contaminants, toxicity, pollutants, and pollution indicators to meet the Illinois Pollution Control Board’s water quality standards. This contract will be administered by the Aquatic Ecology and Water Quality Section of EM&RD.
The estimated cost for this contract is $20,000.00. The estimated 2009 and 2010 expenditures are $11,000.00 and $9,000.00, respectively.
A bid deposit is not required for this contract.
The Multi-Project Labor Agreement is not applicable to this contract because it is primarily a furnish and deliver contract.
Revised Appendix D is not included in this contract because it is primarily a furnish and deliver contract.

Completion December 31, 2010
Funds are available in Account 101-16000-612490. Funds for 2010 are contingent on the Board of Commissioners’ approval of the District’s budget for that year.
In view of the foregoing, it is recommended that the Director of Procurement and Materials Management be authorized to advertise Contract 09-122-11.
