Dear Sir:
In a separate transmittal letter for this Board Meeting related to the Committee on Pension, Human Resources and Civil Service, the Executive Director is requesting the advice and consent of the Board of Commissioners to reappoint Jose A. Lopez and Michael J. Weicher as Commissioners of MWRD’s Ethics Commission for two-year terms pursuant to the Ethics Ordinance.
If the reappointments of Mr. Lopez and Mr. Weicher are approved, the District will issue purchase orders and enter into agreements for their services to the Ethics Commission during their approved term. These services include, but are not limited to, attending quarterly meetings, preparing agendas and minutes, and addressing any complaints filed pursuant to the requirements of the Ethics Ordinance. If the reappointments of Mr. Lopez and Mr. Weicher are approved, it is further recommended that they continue to be compensated on a per hour basis of $125.00 per hour for hearings and $100.00 per hour for preparation and non-hearing time.
If the reappointments are approved, it is hereby recommended that the Director of Procurement and Materials Management be authorized to issue purchase orders and enter into agreements with Jose A. Lopez and Michael J. Weicher for their services as Commissioners on MWRD’s Ethics Commission, in an amount not to exceed $2,500.00 per Commissioner for a two-year period.
