RESOLUTION sponsored by the Board of Commissioners recognizing Dr. Anuja Gupta, Shital Daftari, and Rita Singh for their Leadership in the Women’s Empowerment Campaign of Chicago

WHEREAS, the Women’s Empowerment of Campaign Chicago (WE) is an empowerment platform for Indian women in Chicagoland; and
WHEREAS, the goals of WE include supporting entrepreneurship in Indian women, highlighting Indian women professionals and business owners, celebrating successful Indian women and raising awareness of existing women’s organizations and services; and
WHEREAS, the organization was started by three prominent businesswomen of Chicago: Dr. Anuja Gupta, Shital Daftari and Rita Singh who are entrepreneurs themselves and felt the need to offer such a platform to support other entrepreneurs; and
WHEREAS, WE aims to explore contemporary empowerment issues as they relate to Indian women and provide a platform for promotion of women-owned businesses; and
WHEREAS, the Women’s Empowerment Gala and Awards Night, a celebration of Women’s Day dedicated to Indian Women took place on March 3, 2018 at the Meadows Club in Rolling Meadows; and
WHEREAS, WE recognized the work of prominent women in the Indian American community at this first annual gala; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that we, the Board of Commissioners of the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago, on behalf of ourselves and staff, do hereby recognize Dr. Anuja Gupta, Shital Daftari, and Rita Singh for their Leadership in the Women’s Empowerment Campaign of Chicago; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Resolution be spread upon the permanent Record of Proceedings of the Board of Commissioners of the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago, and that a copy of same, suitably engrossed, be presented to Dr. Anuja Gupta, Shital Daftari, and Rita Singh.
