COMMITTEE ON PROCUREMENT

Mr. John P. Murray, Acting Executive Director

Title

Report on rejection of bids for Contract 17-482-11, Furnish and Deliver Polycom-Skype-For-Business Integration Using Real Connect, Content Connect and One-Touch Dial App, estimated cost $30,000.00

Body

Dear Sir:

On August 31, 2017, the Board of Commissioners authorized the Director of Procurement and Materials Management to advertise for bids, Contract 17-482-11, Furnish and Deliver Polycom-Skype-For-Business Integration Using Real Connect, Content Connect and One-Touch Dial App.

In response to a public advertisement of November 1, 2017, a bid opening was held on November 14, 2017.  The bid tabulation for this contract is:

STAPLES CONTRACT & COMMERCIAL INC.

OPERATING AS STAPLES BUSINESS ADVANTAGE                     $28,663.18

IT SAVVY                     $31,086.12

SKC COMMUNICATION PRODUCTS LLC                     $34,080.25

Six hundred twenty-three (623) companies were notified of this contract being advertised and eighteen (18) companies requested specifications.

The Information Technology Department (IT) has informed my office that this contract is not needed.

The IT Department reviewed the bids received, and upon further investigation of the technology, the Polycom-Skype integration is unstable and not fit for production and implementation at this time.  Therefore, all bids are being rejected in the public’s best interest.  The Director of Procurement and Materials Management has informed all bidders of this action.

The Information Technology Department will not re-advertise this contract at this time.

Recommended, Darlene A. LoCascio, Director of Procurement and Materials Management, DAL:SEB:cm

Respectfully Submitted, Barbara J. McGowan, Chairman, Committee on Procurement
