Authority to issue a five (5) day permit to the Illinois State Toll Highway Authority to perform two (2) hydro-vacuum excavations and associated survey work on Main Channel Parcels 31.01 and 31.05 in Willow Springs, Illinois to verify the location, depth and size of existing water mains. Consideration shall be a nominal fee of $10.00

Dear Sir:
The Illinois State Toll Highway Authority (“ISTHA”) is redesigning the Mile Long Bridge ("Bridge") that crosses over the Des Plaines River and the Main Channel as part of the I-294 Central Tri-State Corridor Project. The middle portion of the Bridge is located between Main Channel Parcels 31.01 and 31.05. Parcel 31.01 is currently vacant and Parcel 31.05 contains the District’s drying beds.
To avoid conflict between the Bridge's redesign and water mains located beneath these parcels, ISTHA has requested a 5-day permit to perform two (2) hydro-vacuum excavations, one excavation on each parcel, and associated surveying work to verify the location, depth and size of the mains. The excavated areas will be backfilled with approved materials.
The District’s technical departments have reviewed ISTHA’s request and have no objections thereto. A nominal fee of $10.00 is recommended as is customary with governmental entities using District property for a public purpose.
It is requested that the Executive Director recommend to the Board of Commissioners that it authorize and approve the issuance of a five (5) day permit to the Illinois State Toll Highway Authority to perform two (2) hydro-vacuum excavations and associated survey work on Main Channel Parcels 31.01 and 31.05 in Willow Springs, Illinois to verify the location, depth and size of existing water mains. Consideration shall be a nominal fee of $10.00.
It is also requested that the Executive Director recommend to the Board of Commissioners that the Chairman of the Committee on Finance and the Clerk be authorized and directed to execute said permit agreement after it is approved by the General Counsel as to form and legality.
