Dear Sir:
 
Contract documents and specifications have been prepared for replacement of an inverter system at the pump and blower house at the Calumet Water Reclamation Plant (WRP).
 
The purpose of this contract is to replace the existing system which can no longer be maintained due to irreversible battery wear and lack of parts availability.
 
The estimated cost for this contract is $112,400.00.
 
The bid deposit for this contract is $5,600.00.
 
The Multi-Project Labor Agreement (MPLA) will be included in this contract.  
 
The Affirmative Action Interim Ordinance Appendix D will be included in this contract. The type of work to be performed under the contract is within the "Electrical" category for establishing utilization goals. The utilization goals for this contract are 13% Minority Business Enterprises (MBE), 7% Women's Business Enterprises (WBE), and 10% Small Business Enterprises (SBE).
 
The tentative schedule for this contract is as follows:

Bid Opening                  March 26, 2013
Award                        April 18, 2013
Completion                  December 31, 2013
 
Funds are are available in Account 201-50000-645650.
 
In view of the foregoing, it is recommended that the Director of Procurement and Materials Management be authorized to advertise Contract 11-839-21.
