Title

Authority to issue a 2-month permit to Geo Services, Inc. and its subcontractor, Alfred Benesch & Company, to access District Main Channel Parcels 34.05, 34.08, 35.02, 35.03, 37.03 and HASMA to perform soil borings for an IDOT project.  Consideration shall be a document preparation fee of $2,500.00

Dear Sir:

Geo Services, Inc. and its subcontractor, Alfred Benesch & Company, have requested to access District Main Channel Parcels 34.05, 34.08, 35.02, 35.03, 37.03 and HASMA to perform soil borings for an IDOT project.  The parcels are located north and south of the Main Channel and east and west of 1^st Avenue (IL-171).  The borings will be taken on or near Main Channel Parcels 34.05, 34.08 and HASMA and within IDOT's 1^st Avenue right-of-way located in Summit, Illinois.

The District's technical departments have reviewed the request and there are no objections to issuing this permit subject to certain technical requirements.

A fair market value fee would yield less than the District's minimum $2,500.00 fee.  A $2,500.00 document preparation fee is therefore recommended.

It is requested that the Executive Director recommend to the Board of Commissioners that it authorize the issuance of a 2-month permit to Geo Services, Inc. and its subcontractor, Alfred Benesch & Company, to access District Main Channel Parcels 34.05, 34.08, 35.02, 35.03, 37.03 and HASMA to perform soil borings for an IDOT project.  Consideration shall be a document preparation fee of $2,500.00.

It is further requested that the Executive Director recommend to the Board of Commissioners that the Chairman of the Committee on Finance and the Clerk be authorized and directed to execute said permit agreement after it is approved by the General Counsel as to form and legality.
