Dear Sir:
Contract documents and specifications have been prepared to repair truck scales at various service areas, at the request of the Maintenance and Operations Department.
The purpose of this contract is to repair and maintain the truck scales at LASMA, CALSMA and the Stickney Water Reclamation Plant. Repair and maintenance services will include, but are not limited to, periodic calibration, all repair parts and components, and a scale safety inspection.
The estimated cost for this contract is $33,000.00.
The bid deposit for this contract is $1,650.00.
The Multi-Project Labor Agreement will be included in this contract.
The Affirmative Action Interim Ordinance Appendix D will not be included in this contract because the estimate is less than the minimum threshold established by Section 4 of the Affirmative Action Interim Ordinance.
The tentative schedule for this contract is as follows:

Bid Opening April 23, 2013
Award May 16, 2013
Completion December 31, 2013
Funds are available in Accounts 101-66000/69000-612650/612680/623270.
In view of the foregoing, it is recommended that the Director of Procurement and Materials Management be authorized to advertise Contract 13-628-11.
