TRANSMITTAL LETTER FOR BOARD MEETING OF JULY 11, 2013

COMMITTEE ON REAL ESTATE

Mr. David St. Pierre, Executive Director

Title
Authority to issue a 45-day permit to the Village of Oak Lawn to perform two soil borings on District Cal-Sag Channel Parcels 8.04 and 8.05 in Palos Heights, Illinois.  Consideration shall be $10.00
Body

Dear Sir:

The Village of Oak Lawn ("Village") has requested a 45-day permit to perform two geotechnical soil borings on District property located immediately east of Southwest Highway (Illinois Route 7) on the north and south sides of the Cal-Sag Channel on Cal-Sag Parcels 8.04 and 8.05 in Palos Heights.  The Village has requested this soil boring permit in preparation for a new water main project for the Village.

Parcel 8.04 is under lease to the City of Palos Heights and Parcel 8.05 is under lease to Metra.  The permit will, therefore, be subject to the consent of both entities.

The District's technical departments have no objections to issuing a permit to the Village to perform soil borings.

A nominal fee of $10.00 is recommended as is customary under agreements with municipal agencies using or accessing District property for public purposes.

It is requested that the Executive Director recommend to the Board of Commissioners that it authorize the issuance of a 45-day permit to the Village of Oak Lawn to perform two soil borings on District Cal-Sag Channel Parcels 8.04 and 8.05 in Palos Heights, Illinois.  Consideration shall be $10.00.

Requested, Ronald M. Hill, General Counsel, RMH:STM:BEB:rg
Recommended, David St. Pierre, Executive Director
Respectfully Submitted, Mariyana T. Spyropoulos, Chairman Committee on Real Estate Development
