Authority to issue a 2-month permit to McGinty Bros., Inc. to trim trees on a 9,600 sq. ft. area of the District's Main Channel Parcel 31.03 located in Willow Springs, Illinois.  Consideration shall be a document preparation fee of $2,500.00

Dear Sir:
 
McGinty Bros., Inc. ("McGinty Bros.") has requested to trim trees on a 9,600 sq. ft. area of the District's Main Channel Parcel 31.03 located in Willow Springs, Illinois.  The trees to be trimmed are obstructing a sign board owned and operated by Lamar Advertising of Illinois, LLC.  The sign board is located along the southbound LaGrange Road right-of-way and not on District land.  McGinty Bros. has indicated that the work will be performed by a certified arborist.  Upon completion, the area will be cleaned of any debris and all branches will be chipped and spread.
 
Parcel 31.03 is leased to the Forest Preserve District of Cook County ("Forest Preserve") for public recreational purposes and for operating the Centennial Trail.  The Forest Preserve has consented to the issuance of the subject permit and has agreed to approve and monitor which trees will be trimmed, the method to be used, clean-up of the area, and the spreading of wood chips.
 
The District's technical departments have reviewed the request and there are no objections to issuing this permit to McGinty Bros. to trim trees.
 
A fair market value fee on the permit premises would yield a fee less than the District's minimum $2,500.00 fee.  A $2,500.00 document preparation fee is therefore recommended.
 
It is requested that the Executive Director recommend to the Board of Commissioners that it authorize the issuance of a 2-month permit to McGinty Bros., Inc. to trim trees on a 9,600 sq. ft. area of the District's Main Channel Parcel 31.03 located in Willow Springs, Illinois.  Consideration shall be a document preparation fee of $2,500.00.
 
It is also requested that the Executive Director recommend to the Board of Commissioners that the Chairman of the Committee on Finance and the Clerk be authorized and directed to execute said permit agreement after it is approved by the General Counsel as to form and legality.
