TRANSMITTAL LETTER FOR BOARD MEETING OF AUGUST 8, 2013
COMMITTEE ON MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS
Mr. David St. Pierre, Executive Director
Title
Authorization to revise the scope of work under Article 7 of the General Conditions to be performed by Corrpro Companies, Inc., under Contract 11-933-11, Maintenance Services for Cathodic Protection Systems in the Stickney Service Area
Body
Dear Sir:
On August 11, 2011, the Board of Commissioners authorized the Director of Procurement and Materials Management to award Contract 11-933-11, Maintenance Services for Cathodic Protection Systems in the Stickney Service Area, to Corrpro Companies, Inc., in an amount of $159,740.00. The contract expires on December 31, 2013.
Stickney personnel became aware that the new sludge pipelines carrying sludge from SWRP to LASMA do not meet the National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE) guidelines for the protection of underground pipes at the discharge point from the plant at Control Structure 6A. On April 18, 2013, the Maintenance and Operations Department received and approved a proposal from Corrpro Companies, Inc., in an amount of $22,069.00, to supply, install and test an impressed current Cathodic Protection system, with rectifier, for the LASMA sludge pipelines at the Stickney Water Reclamation Plant. This change in scope of work, to be performed under the subject Contract, will correct the aforementioned problem.
This work is not currently included in the Contract's Bid Items. However, the work is germane to the Contract and funds are available in the Contract's Purchase Order 5001272. All other terms and conditions of the Contract will remain the same, with no changes to the total Contract value or existing individual bid prices.
It is hereby recommended that the Board of Commissioners authorize the Director of Maintenance and Operations to execute this change in scope of work, to be performed under Contract 11-933-11, in accordance with Article 7 of the General Conditions.
Requested, Manju Prakash Sharma, Director of Maintenance & Operations, SES:SO'C:MAG:SAF:SSG
Respectfully Submitted, Frank Avila, Chairman Committee on Maintenance and Operations
