MEMORIAL RESOLUTION FOR BOARD MEETING OF AUGUST 8, 2013

MEMORIAL RESOLUTION sponsored by the Board of Commissioners extending sympathy and condolences to the family of Vera Lee Crayton
Body
WHEREAS, Vera Lee Crayton was born June 29, 1950, in Vicksburg, Mississippi to Roosevelt and Malinda (Fair) Crayton; and
WHEREAS, Vera was called to eternal rest too soon; and
WHEREAS, Vera was reunited with her parents; her brothers Willie, Roosevelt, Ollie, Ernest and Lawrence; and her sisters Elease and Patricia, who preceded her in death; and
WHEREAS, Vera is survived by her loving son Thurman (Jabo); her precious grandsons Xavier and Isiah; her cherished siblings, including sisters Barbara (John), Irene (Oni), and Denise (Stephen) and brothers Willie (Katie), Albert (Emma), and Calvin (Debra);  dearest friend Lilly Tillis; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends; and
WHEREAS, Vera attended John Marshall High School and Olive Harvey College; and
 
WHEREAS, Vera was a deeply faithful person, accepting Christ at a very young age under the leadership of the late Reverend Milton Brunson; and
 
WHEREAS, Vera worked as a dental assistant and was a strong advocate for good dental hygiene, having always made sure all her nieces and nephews went to the dentist; and
 
WHEREAS, Vera had a way with children and loved working at Lutheran Family Christian Daycare; and
 
WHEREAS, Vera and her son Thurman were known as "Felix and Oscar" and provided much entertainment for their family while maintaining a deep, unconditionally loving bond; and
 
WHEREAS, The family and friends of Vera Lee Crayton will miss her love and devotion, her courageous, adventurous and daredevil attitude, her sense of humor, and her ability to get away with things her siblings never could; and
  
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that we, the Board of Commissioners of the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago, on behalf of ourselves and staff, extend our sympathy and condolences to the family of Vera Lee Crayton; and
 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Resolution be spread upon the permanent Record of Proceedings of the Board of Commissioners of the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago, and that a copy of same, suitable engrossed, be presented to the family of Vera Lee Crayton.
