Authority to ratify the Executive Director's issuance of a one (1) day Confined Space Entry Permit to the Pleasantview Fire Protection District ("PFPD") to conduct Rope Rescue Training on August 8, 2013 at the Hodgkins ("River Road") Facility in Hodgkins, Illinois. Consideration shall be a nominal fee of $10.00

Dear Sir:
The Pleasantview Fire Protection District ("PFPD") has requested a one (1) day Confined Space Entry Permit to Conduct Rope Rescue Training on August 8, 2013 at the District's Hodgkins ("River Road") Facility in Hodgkins, Illinois. Since the PFPD request coincided with the same date as the Board meeting, the Executive Director polled the Board of Commissioners for authority to execute the Confined Entry Permit. Approval was granted.
The PFPD is requesting use of the River Road facility for rescue team training on August 8 2013 from approximately 7:45 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Rescue training exercises will include approximately 30 rescuers and require use of the access shaft from ground level to the lower level of the facility. PFPD will be required to comply with State and Federal OHSA regulations, and the District's "Confined Space Permit" and "Confined Space Entry Procedures."
The District's technical departments have reviewed PFPD's request for the one (1) day permit and have no objections thereto. The PFPD will provide the District with proof of liability insurance and a Release form for each person participating in the training exercises.
A nominal fee of $10.00 is recommended as is customary for governmental entities using District land for public purposes.
It is requested that the Board of Commissioners ratify the Executive Director's issuance of a one (1) day Confined Space Entry Permit to the Pleasantview Fire Protection District to conduct Rope Rescue Training on August 8, 2013 at the Hodgkins Facility in Hodgkins, Illinois. Consideration shall be a nominal fee of $10.00.
