Dear Sir:
 
Contract documents and specifications have been prepared for services to rebuild AC and DC motors to various service areas, at the request of the Maintenance and Operations Department.
 
The purpose of this contract is to procure services to rebuild low voltage, AC and DC electric motors at various service areas for a three year period.
 
The estimated cost for this contract is $183,900.00. The estimated 2013, 2014 and 2015 expenditures are $61,300.00 for each year.
 
The bid deposit for this contract is $9,200.00.
 
The Multi-Project Labor Agreement will not be included in this contract because the work is performed at the contractor's facility.
 
The Affirmative Action Interim Ordinance, Appendix D, will not be included in this contract due to the specialized nature of the work.
 
The tentative schedule for this contract is as follows:
Advertise      March 27, 2013
Bid Opening      April 9, 2013
Award      May 2, 2013
Completion      December 31, 2015
 
Funds for 2013 are available in Accounts 101-67000/68000/69000-612650. Funds for subsequent years, 2014 and 2015, are contingent on the Board of Commissioners' approval of the District's budget for those years.
 
In view of the foregoing, it is recommended that the Director of Procurement and Materials Management be authorized to advertise Contract 13-690-11.
