Authority to issue a 6-month permit to Hayward Baker Inc. to use 0.2783 acres of District real estate located at 16760 State Street, northeast of the Thornton Composite Reservoir, in Thornton, Illinois, for performing a geotechnical investigation and grouted anchor test program. Consideration shall be a nominal fee of $10.00.

Dear Sir:
The District's Engineering Department has requested that Hayward Baker Inc. ("Hayward") be permitted to use 0.2783 acres of District real estate located at 16760 State Street, northeast of the Thornton Composite Reservoir, in Thornton, Illinois, for performing a geotechnical investigation and grouted anchor test program.
Hayward is currently working at the Thornton Composite Reservoir jobsite installing the double row grout curtain and performing drilling services under Contract 04-201-4F, Tollway Dam, Grout Curtain and Quarry Plugs, Thornton Composite Reservoir, CSA.
Prior to the test program, the District will demolish the derelict house and garage on the subject site. The test program will only be performed on a 50' x 90' area of the site. However, upon completion of the test program, Hayward will restore, grade, reseed and landscape the entire 0.2783 acre site. The permit will require that the test program be conducted under certain conditions imposed by the District's Engineering Department including, but not limited to, written assurance that the test program will not affect the Thornton Composite Reservoir project. Due to the benefits to be received by the District under this permit (the restoring, grading, seeding and landscaping of the site), a nominal fee of $10.00 is recommended.
It is requested that the Executive Director recommend to the Board of Commissioners that it authorize the issuance of a 6-month permit to Hayward Baker Inc. to use 0.2783 acres of District real estate located at 16760 State Street, northeast of the Thornton Composite Reservoir, in Thornton, Illinois, for performing a geotechnical investigation and grouted anchor test program. Consideration shall be a nominal fee of $10.00.
It is also requested that the Executive Director recommend to the Board of Commissioners that the Chairman of the Committee on Finance and the Clerk be authorized and directed to execute said permit agreement after it is approved by the Director of Engineering as to technical matters and the General Counsel as to form and legality.
