MEMORIAL RESOLUTION FOR BOARD MEETING OF JUNE 6, 2013

MEMORIAL RESOLUTION sponsored by the Board of Commissioners extending sympathy and condolences to the family of Hilda Marshall
Body
 
WHEREAS, Hilda Marshall was born May 31, 1926 in Natchez, Mississippi to Marshall and Elmira Titus; and
 
WHEREAS, Ms. Marshall was called to eternal rest too soon; and
 
WHEREAS, Hilda was reunited with her parents and her siblings R.J. Lindsay, Ethel Walter, Wilson Titus and Vivian Titus, who preceded her in death; and
 
WHEREAS, Hilda is survived by her daughters Paulette Marshall, Pauline Marshall, Norma Ofei and Christine Marshall-Hart; her sons Norman Marshall and Jerome Marshall; her sisters Catherine Thomas, Gladys Morris, Thelma Diggs and Mary Louise Titus; thirteen grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews; and
 
WHEREAS, Ms. Marshall was raised in Natchez, one of nine children, and was playfully known as "Baby Sis"; and
 
WHEREAS, Hilda met her sweetheart, Norman C. Marshall in New York City, where the two were married before moving to Chicago Heights; and
WHEREAS, Hilda and Norman were the proud parents of six children; and
WHEREAS, Hilda worked for the City of Chicago Department of Human Resources as a custodian for over twenty years; and  
 
WHEREAS, a beautiful person who gave her all to others, especially her family, Hilda never met a stranger she would not help and would welcome anyone into her home; and
WHEREAS, a member of the Decatur Seven Day Adventist Church in Atlanta, Georgia, Hilda was deeply faithful and was comforted by the unwavering assurance that God was in control of everything; and  
   
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that we, the Board of Commissioners of the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago, on behalf of ourselves and staff, extend our sympathy and condolences to the family of Hilda Marshall; and
 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Resolution be spread upon the permanent Record of Proceedings of the Board of Commissioners of the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago, and that a copy of same, suitably engrossed, be presented to the family of Hilda Marshall.
