Dear Sir:
 
Contract documents and specifications have been prepared to furnish and deliver one new refrigeration van and two new vans with camper style high-tops.
 
The purpose of this contract is to acquire three new vans for the Monitoring and Research Department to replace existing vans that have exceeded the vehicle replacement criteria.  The refrigeration van is used to transport water samples from the field for analysis.  The high-top vans are used to transport sampling huts to various locations in the field.
 
The estimated cost for this contract is $90,000.00.
 
A bid deposit is not required for this contract.
 
The Multi-Project Labor Agreement is not applicable to this contract because it is primarily a furnish and deliver contract.
 
The Affirmative Action Interim Ordinance Appendix D is not included in this contract because it is primarily a furnish and deliver contract.
 
The tentative schedule for this contract is as follows:
Advertise      June 12, 2013
Bid Opening      July 9, 2013
Award      August 8, 2013
Completion      December 31, 2013
 
Funds are available in Account 201-50000-634860.
 
In view of the foregoing, it is recommended that the Director of Procurement and Materials Management be authorized to advertise Contract 13-430-21.
