Dear Sir:
 
Contract documents and specifications have been prepared for Contract 13-907-11, Furnish and Deliver a Portable, Diesel-Powered Generator to the Stickney Water Reclamation Plant, at the request of the Maintenance and Operations Department.
 
The purpose of this contract is to replace a generator at the Stickney Water Reclamation Plant that is damaged beyond repair due to a catastrophic engine failure. The new, portable generator will provide emergency power to various areas of the Stickney service area, such as the sump pits to prevent flooding in the Pump & Blower Building, on an as needed basis, during periods of plant outages.
 
The estimated cost for this contract is $50,000.00.
 
There is no bid deposit for this contract.
 
The Multi-Project Labor Agreement (MPLA) is not applicable to this contract because it is primarily a furnish and deliver contract.
 
The Affirmative Action Interim Ordinance, Appendix D, will not be included because it is primarily a furnish and deliver contract.
 
The tentative schedule for this contract is as follows:
Advertise      October 2, 2013
Bid Opening      October 22, 2013
Award      November 7, 2013
Completion      December 31, 2013
 
Funds are available in Account 101-69000-634600.
 
In view of the foregoing, it is recommended that the Director of Procurement and Materials Management be authorized to advertise Contract 13-907-11.
