Dear Sir:
 
Contract documents and specifications have been prepared for Contract 13-804-21, Furnish and Deliver Cathodic Protection System Parts to the Calumet Water Reclamation Plant, at the request of the Maintenance and Operations Department.
 
The purpose of this contract is to procure Cathodic Protection System parts, including, but not limited to, corrosion inhibitors, anode rods, electrodes, all associated wires, cables and junction boxes and all ancillary components and materials to repair the existing Cathodic Protection System at the Sludge Concentration Building at the Calumet Water Reclamation Plant, for a twelve month period.
 
The estimated cost for this contract is $130,040.00.
 
The bid deposit for this contract is $6,500.00.
 
The Multi-Project Labor Agreement, and the Affirmative Action Interim Ordinance Appendix D are not included in this contract because it is for furnishing and delivering parts.
 
The tentative schedule for this contract is as follows:
Advertise      October 2, 2013
Bid Opening      October 22, 2013
Award      November 7, 2013
Completion      November 7, 2014
 
Funds for 2013 are available in Account 201-50000-634650.
 
In view of the foregoing, it is recommended that the Director of Procurement and Materials Management be authorized to advertise Contract 13-804-21.
