Body

Dear Sir:

On April 17, 2008, the Board of Commissioners authorized the Director of Procurement and Materials Management to award Contract 08-812-11 Services to Maintain and Repair Absorption Chillers at the Calumet Water Reclamation Plant, to Anchor Mechanical, Inc. in an amount not to exceed $226,722.00. The contract expires on May 19, 2011.

The contract has no prior change orders.

A decrease in contract value is being requested at this time because the amount of work actually completed under this contract was less than anticipated in 2009.

This change order is in compliance with the Illinois Criminal Code since the change order is due to circumstances not reasonably foreseeable at the time the contract was signed, and is in the best interest of the District.

It is hereby recommended that the Board of Commissioners authorize the Director of Procurement and Materials Management to execute a change order to decrease Contract 08-812-11, in an amount of $44,586.86 (19.7% of the current contract value). from an amount of $226,722.00, to an amount not to exceed $182,135.14.

Funds will be restored in Account 101-68000-612680.
