Body

Dear Sir:

On September 3, 2009, the Board of Commissioners authorized the Director of Procurement and Materials Management to award Contract 09-432-11 Excavate and Replace Petrol-Hydrocarbon Impacted Soil, to Tecnica Environmental Services, Inc., in an amount not to exceed $50,937.00.  The contract expired on December 31, 2009.

This contract has no previous change orders.

The requested increase is due to a greater than expected volume of impacted soil requiring removal and replacement.

This change order is in compliance with the Illinois Criminal Code since the change is due to circumstances not reasonably foreseeable at the time the contract was signed, and is in the best interest of the District.

It is hereby recommended that the Board of Commissioners authorize the Director of Procurement and Materials Management to execute a change order to increase Contract 09-432-11, in an amount of $17,948.44 (35% of the current contract value) from an amount of $50,937.00 to an amount not to exceed $68,885.44.

Funds are available in Account 901-30000-667220.
