RESOLUTION FOR BOARD MEETING OF MARCH 4, 2010

RESOLUTION sponsored by the Board of Commissioners congratulating the Chicago Minority Supplier Development Council on its sponsorship of the 43rd Chicago Business Opportunity Fair “Rebound 2010: Connect, Drive, Thrive”

Body

 

WHEREAS, the Chicago Minority Supplier Development Council, (CMSDC) is one of the nation’s premier organizations for minority business development in the nation; and

 

WHEREAS, CMSDC was born out of a direct initiative of corporate, government and civic leaders in response to a call from the minority community for business access and economic parity; and

 

WHEREAS, for over twenty years, the Chicago Minority Supplier Development Council has championed the interests of minority entrepreneurs in the Metropolitan Chicago Area and nationally; and

 

WHEREAS, the CMSDC will sponsor the 43rd Chicago Business Opportunity Fair “Rebound 2010: Connect, Drive, Thrive” on March 29, 2010 through March 31, 2010, at Navy Pier, in Chicago, Illinois; and

 

WHEREAS, the Chicago Business Opportunity Fair is an annual trade show event with emphasis and focus on minority, women and small businesses  meeting buyers from governmental agencies and the private sector; and

 

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago has been a pioneer in recognizing the economic contributions of minority, women and small businesses; and

 

WHEREAS, this recognition is evinced by the District’s early adoption and continuing advocacy of policies which support minority, women and small businesses within its jurisdiction; and

 

WHEREAS, the development of minority, women and small business is in the best interest of the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago, the City of Chicago, the State of Illinois and the United States of America.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that we, the Board of Commissioners of the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago, on behalf of ourselves and staff, do hereby join with the Chicago Minority Supplier Development Council in celebrating and supporting the 43rd Chicago Business Opportunity Fair “Rebound 2010: Connect, Drive, Thrive”; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution be spread upon the permanent Record of Proceedings of the Board of Commissioners of the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago, and that a copy of same, suitably engrossed, be presented to the Chicago Minority Supplier Development Council.
