Dear Sir:
Thomas Trend is a Machinist at the Stickney Water Reclamation Plant. On May 22, 2007, he twisted his left knee after jumping down to the bottom of a tank. He was evaluated by his group health plan doctor for left knee pain. An MRI revealed a medial meniscal tear. On July 20, 2007, Mr. Trend underwent surgery to repair the tear. He completed a physical therapy program and returned to regular duties on October 1, 2007. He lost 51 days of work.
Subject to the approval of the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission, this pro-se claim can be settled for the sum of $23,326.37 which represents a 17.5% loss of the left leg.
The General Counsel believes this is an equitable settlement to conclude this matter and requests payment of that sum be approved and he be authorized to execute such documents as may be necessary to effect the settlement.
