RESOLUTION FOR BOARD MEETING OF APRIL 15, 2010

RESOLUTION sponsored by the Board of Commissioners congratulating Patrick J. Foley  on his 40 years of service and retirement

Body

 

WHEREAS, Patrick  J. (“Pat”) Foley, Director of Human Resources, will retire from the classified service of the District on April 30, 2010, after 40 years of service; and

 

WHEREAS, Pat received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and a Master of Science in Industrial Relations from Loyola University of Chicago; and

 

WHEREAS, During his career at the District, Pat served in positions of increasing responsibility, including Assistant Personnel Analyst, Associate Personnel Analyst, Senior Personnel Analyst, Principal Personnel Analyst, Compensation and Benefits Manager, Assistant Director of Personnel and Acting Director of Personnel, from 1970 to 2005; and

 

WHEREAS, Patrick  J. Foley was appointed as the District’s Director of Personnel, now known as Director of Human Resources, in 2005; and

 

 WHEREAS, Pat was a member of the Board of Directors of the District’s Credit Union for 16 years; and 

 

WHEREAS, Patrick  J. Foley is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management; and

 

WHEREAS, Pat was nominated as Outstanding Executive Employee for the 1997 Superior Public Service Award and received a Finalist Award; and

 

WHEREAS, Patrick  J. Foley dedicated his professional career to the fulfillment of the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago’s motto “Protecting Our Water Environment”; and

 

WHEREAS, Notwithstanding his dedication to the District, Pat is a dedicated family man to his wife, Marge, of 39 years, and their two adult children, Tom and Dan, and a grandson, Will.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that we, the Board of Commissioners of the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago, on behalf of ourselves and

our staff, do hereby congratulate Patrick  J. Foley upon the celebration of his forty

years of service to and retirement from District employment, and express our gratitude and appreciation for his work on behalf of the community and the environment; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Resolution be spread upon the permanent Record of Proceedings of the Board of Commissioners of the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago, and that a copy of same, suitably engrossed, be presented to Patrick  J. Foley.
