Dear Sir:

 

Contract documents and specifications have been prepared to furnish and deliver rental lab coats and coveralls to various locations for the Environmental Monitoring and Research and Analytical Laboratories Divisions of the Monitoring and Research Department.

 

Rental lab coats and coveralls are required to protect laboratory personnel against chemical splashes  when they are performing laboratory analytical procedures.

 

The estimated cost of this contract is $30,300.00.  The estimated 2010, 2011, and 2012 expenditures are $4,000.00, $15,000.00, and $11,300.00 respectively.

 

A bid deposit is not required for this contract.

 

The Multi-Project Labor Agreement is not applicable to this contract because it is primarily a furnish and deliver contract.

 

Revised Appendix D is not included in this contract because it is primarily a furnish and deliver contract.

 

The tentative schedule for this contract is as follows:

Advertise:                     June 9, 2010

Bid Opening:                     June 30, 2010

Award:                     August 12, 2010

Completion:                     September 30, 2012

 

Funds for the current year are available in Account 101-16000-612490.  Funds for 2011 and 2012 are contingent on the Board of Commissioners’ approval of the District’s budget for those years.

 

In view of the foregoing, it is recommended that the Director of Procurement and Materials Management be authorized to advertise Contract 10-102-11.
