Requesting the advice and consent of the Board of Commissioners to the appointment of Mr. Kenneth Kits as the Director of Engineering for the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago

Dear Commissioners:
Section 2605/4 of Chapter 70, Illinois Compiled Statutes, states that the Executive Director, with the advice and consent of the Board of Commissioners, shall appoint the Director of Engineering. I hereby request that the Board of Commissioners give me its advice and consent to a permanent appointment of Mr. Kenneth Kits as Director of Engineering
After several years as Vice President of Frame Engineering, Mr. Kits began his career at the District as a Supervising Structural Engineer in July 1994 and has progressed to Assistant Director of Engineering, as described in his career highlights attached.
Mr. Kits has been Acting Director of Engineering since March 1, 2010. I am pleased and proud to make this appointment of a dedicated and proven member of the Engineering Department. Upon the consent of the Board of Commissioners, the effective dated of the appointment is May 6, 2010.
