Body
Dear Sir:
On March 20, 2008, the Board of Commissioners authorized the Director of Procurement and Materials Management to issue a purchase order (PO) for Contract 08-131-11 to provide low-level mercury analysis of treatment plant effluent and ambient water quality samples at various locations, to Pace Analytical Services, in an amount not to exceed $112,000.00. The contract expired March 31, 2010.
As of April 15, 2010, the attached list of change orders has been approved. The effect of these change orders resulted in an increase in an amount of $31,996.00 from the original amount awarded of $112,000.00. The current contract value is $143,996.00. The prior approved change orders reflect a 28.6 percent increase to the original contract value.
The increase will cover the final payments for service through March 31, 2010.
This change order is in compliance with the Illinois Criminal Code since the change order is due to circumstances not reasonably foreseeable at the time the contract was signed, and is in the best interest of the District.
It is hereby recommended that the Board of Commissioners authorize the Director of Procurement and Materials Management to execute a change order to increase the PO for Contract 08-131-11, in an amount of $9,726.00 (6.8% percent of the current contract value) from an amount of $143,996.00 to an amount not to exceed $153,722.00.
Funds are available in Account 101-16000-612490.
